Customizing the Theme
--------------------------------------------------
Flexibility is an incredibly flexible (hence the name) theme for WordPress that allows you to customize almost every aspect of your blog. In WP versions prior to 2.7, to access the options page simply log into your WordPress theme administration panel and click on 'Design'. You should have a 'Flexibility Theme Options' option on the menu. Click that. In WP 2.7 and above, under the "Appearance" tab, you will find the "Flexibility Theme Options" link.
The options page is where you control your blog appearance. You can control colors, background images, font styles, hover states, overall blog width, sidebar widths and layout, optional AdSense ad insertion, analytics code and much more.
There are so many ways you can customize the theme that we can't even begin to list them here. Play around with the theme options and you'll get the hang of how it works. Read the descriptions next to each option field and you'll know what the option controls. I will be posting video tutorials on how to customize the theme at http://www.flexibilitytheme.com as time permits (I've promised these since v1.0, but they will be coming, I promise).
When you get done changing your options, press the Save button at any location on the page. Reload your blog and your changes should be visible. To reset the colors to their default install colors, click Reset. ***This will erase any changes you previously made!***
NEW for v2.0

Wow, there are so many new features in v2.0 that I'm only going to list the main new features.
- There is a new Theme Color Changer that you can use to make major color changes to your theme. You can then go in and fine tune individual colors as you wish.
- There is a new Theme Lightness Selector which allows you to adjust the overall lightness of the greys in the default color scheme from dark to medium or light.
- The color picker is now a jQuery picker that allows you to select any color, not just those I included in the old version.
- Rebuilt the feature area to support multiple widgets and make it much more user-friendly. You can either use widgets or edit the feature.php file. Just make sure you tell the theme how many columns you want to use in the options page.
- Theme includes support for WP 2.7 threaded comments
- Many style and graphic changes
- Includes built-in header, RSS and search box graphics, so you don't have to upload new ones to change them
- All new menu styles
- Changed the way Google Analytics works. Now you just need to enter your Web Property ID from the analytics code instead of the entire script
IE 6 hacks
---------------------------------------------------
In order to get our theme images to allow the background color to show through we used semi-transparent png images. We included the hacks to allow IE 6 to be able to display these properly. Do not delete the iepngfix.htc, the iepngfix_tilebg.js or the blank.gif files from the theme directory. The code is courtesy of TwinHelix and is IEPNGFIX version 2.0a2. If you are having troubles getting the PNG files to display properly in IE6 after installing the theme, download the files from http://www.twinhelix.com/css/iepngfix/ and read the included html file. There are several tips on getting the hack to work on different servers. On the other hand, if you'd like to burn IE6 in a flaming inferno, don't worry about it. In v2.0, I built a separate stylesheet for IE6 that removes some of the problem images such as a repeating background transparent PNG. There are also some spacing hacks for IE6 in the file to get everything to display correctly.
License for free use

I have a ton of time wrapped up in developing this theme and the only requirement for free use is to leave the links in the footer. If you find links to sites other than back to the Flexibility Theme site, they are my sites. Chances are good the links will be insurance-related since I'm a licensed agent and have a few niche insurance sites. I don't sell links on this theme, so any footer links are to my sites and must be left in place unless you buy either a site license or a developer's license. Also, the footer link only shows up on the blog front page, not the individual post pages.
If you use the theme and just think Flexibility is just pretty sweet, please consider a donation to encourage further development of the theme and new graphic downloads. I don't do this to make money (or I'd be selling it instead of giving it away), it's just nice to help people out and get some nice feedback and an occassional donation.

Note regarding CSS Validation: this theme makes use of the CSS3 property “border-radius” to generate rounded corners in various areas. Since CSS3 has not been fully adopted yet, the CSS will not pass a validation check, although the theme will function normally in all major browsers. Also, Internet Explorer has not yet adopted the “border-radius” property and will not display rounded corners. If you prefer, the rounder corners can be easily removed by simply removing it from the stylesheet.css template.
